London Guide

Feel very inspired by the Lo-Fi Guide to London from This is Naive. Even though I live in London now, Streatham is a bit of a no-man's land compared to all the lovely areas in this comprehensive guide. I miss living in central London and I also can't wait to move further out to Kingston, where I can go explore little shops by the river and have lunch at the Polish Cafe in the Antiques Centre.... two more months to go!

Beautiful Classic Album Cover stamps from the Royal Mail. My favourite is the New Order cover (main picture above), from their 'Power, Corruption & Lies' album. I love New Order AND pretty pink flowers!

Raise your hand if you like sending letters

Isn't it so exciting when you get a personal letter or postcard through the post. I love sending and receiving mail, and often make my own birthday and Christmas cards (especially now I have a wonderful Gocco machine).
It's always a good idea to have a stash of ready to send cards though, and wouldn't these 100 Book Jacket Postcards from Penguin make the most original collection!

real flower company bouquet!

As promised, here are some photos of the beautiful rose bouquet from the Real Flower Company that I received on Friday for our 2 1/2 years anniversary! I can't stop looking at them and especially SMELLING them because they smell di-vine. :)

Sad to see the magnolia already turning into green leaves here in London. Wish my lovely man wasn't stuck in Poland because of the volcano and we could go on a dreamy picnic under the last of the blossom... this picture sums up my perfect day.

hot weather accessories

The hot weather has actually managed to stay with us for a whole week now so I needed some hot weather shoes to go with it. Zara never disappoints, and these shoes were no exception.
Then of course I just HAD to get some new sunglasses. Oh dear, I must re-read Love Is Not Enough.

I love the name and style of this "six thirty" necklace. It's the kind of piece that everyone would ask about, and yet, it's so classic at the same time. Since I usually wear my watch round my neck (on a Marc Jacobs pear pendant), this would make a very subtle change!

bikes!

The girl from Oxford who managed to fail her cycling proficiency (it is possible ok!) has finally got a massive bike crush.
Maybe it's the effect of my bike mad boyfriend who built his own bike in the garden (very impressed), maybe it's the fact that I will finally be close enough to cycle to uni next year... but these bikes have got me and they've got me good.

Here we go again! Life as a fashion student pretty much revolves around deadlines and new briefs (what... did you think it was all glamour and catwalks?!!). I have paint under my nails and too much caffeine in my system. This poster pretty much sums it all up. Brilliant.

Love is not enough

Such a fantastic book! I ordered this after deciding to sort my finances out and it's taught me so much. For any woman, of any age, I can't recommend it enough. It's the first book I've ever passed on to friends.

New Boots!

Finally found some new boots after my old ones died a slow and painful death... Was so excited to get them I wore them to the shops even though it was the hottest day this year!

Milk Glass

Sorry for little blogging hiatus - I spent Easter Weekend in Oxford at my Mum's. Made my first macarons Saturday night to take to her's -not bad for my first time (and taking into account the size of my kitchen and lack of correct kitchen equipment).

I would have loved to have displayed them on this amazing vintage Fenton Milk Glass cakestand which has unfortunately now sold out (you can find more on ebay).

It's the luminosity of the white milk glass that gets me every time! But in reality I would be scared to own this until I have more space to display and store it.

Whistle Necklaces

I'm doing a project for Sophie Hulme at the moment and I keep spotting these great whistle necklaces everywhere! Sophie designs a charm every season and for A/W08 and A/W10 they were whistles. I think the charm I design for her may be a metal paper plane but I'll tell you more about that when I get some work done! For the time being, here are some beauties from etsy:

We are moving in August and I keep browsing the internet looking at expensive flats and furniture (naughty naughty).
